Owosso competed in the Davison Twilight Classic Track Invitational on Friday. With Regionals one week away and the weather so cold and wet, we decided to scratch a lot of events and focus our athletes on a few events. As a result, we finished 14th out of 29 schools, and 7th out of 9 in the medium schools division. Full results can be found at: https://www.athletic.net/TrackAndField/MeetResults.aspx?Meet=315882&show=all Despite the weather, we still managed a few great performances, led by Mirranda Libbey’s overall 2nd place finish in the 3200m. Mirranda set a PR mark of 11:54, losing by just one second and pulling within 9 seconds of the automatic state qualifying mark. Our 4×100 relay team of Katie Clevenger, Malyrie Montroy, Lexi Martenis and Molly Hart finished 3rd place overall, but 1st in the medium schools division with a time of 52.47. Two of those relay members, Lexi Martenis (13.88) and Molly Hart (13.98), finished 2nd and 3rd place in the medium schools division of the 100m dash. Kaitlyn Owens had a strong day with a medium division 2nd place finish in the 800m (2:27.1) to go with her 3rd place 5:30.72 in the 1600m. She also joined Katie Clevenger, Malyrie Montroy and Mirranda Libbey on the medium schools 2nd place 4×400 relay team (4:27.4). After a lot of hard work, we are looking forward to a full week off to recover and prepare for Regionals in Corunna next week.
