Welcome to the 2018 BirdClaw/Cross Country Summer Running Season. Hard work, dedication and team camaraderie are key to developing a strong, successful cross-country season. Encourage others join as we hope to continue grow. Don’t hesitate to contact us with questions about running, the season, etc. Go Trojans!
Physicals: Get sports physicals ASAP: They must be signed after April 15th, 2018
*After Hours Clinics offer $30 physicals (across from Meijer or Speedway)

Summer Running starts Monday, July 18th.
*Mondays & Wednesdays: 8:30-10:00 am AND Tuesdays & Thursdays: 8:30-10:30 am at the OHS Track
*Locations may occasionally change (local parks, Fortitude, etc.).
*Summer Dead Week: July 1-8 – No OHS athletic events.
Athletic.net: Track ALL WORKOUTS on Athletic.net. (Varsity Letters may depend on it.)
*This is a great way to watch your personal growth, while maintaining accountability.
Mileage Club: Get mileage club shirts for reaching post-track running milestones (200, 300, etc.)
Mileage tracking covers the entire summer.
Season Starts: Wednesday, August 8th
Parent Sports Night: Wednesday, August 15th at 6:00 in the OHS Auditorium
Pep Rally/St. Johns Meet on Friday the 17th
*5:00 – Arrive at Willman Stadium
*6:00 – Meet the Teams Starts
*8:00 – Bus arrives to take us to St. Johns for the “Under the Lights” Meet
*Spikes are optional for races, but certainly assist with traction and speed.
*Wear sweats in cold weather – It is strongly suggested that you wear skins/cold weather gear
*All skins/cold weather gear must match the team’s apparel. Buy only black or dark navy.
Only 1 logo (1 inch may show). Mismatched colors and more than 1 logo will disqualify runners.
*Bring watches to all practices. If you don’t have one, we have one you may use for the season.
*Make sure you concentrate on pre/post-runs and dynamic warm-ups to avoid injury
*As injuries arise please speak with coaches first (keep us updated) – Seek assistance from the school trainer
when necessary – Following doctor’s visits please bring coaches a note
