Trojan football/basketball alum, Jacob Pahssen, Class of 2003 has returned to his hometown Owosso to share his extensive experiences and knowledge from across America to build his own business in Owosso. Jacob was one of our first graduates that helped to initiate the culinary arts program that is now so popular among our students. Pahssen knew from an early age that his life’s ambition was to become a chef, preparing appetizing and appealing food for his customers and clients. Jacob has most certainly done that.
Upon graduating in 2003, Jacob packed a suitcase, and headed to Scottsdale, AZ for culinary school. The first person he met in the airport was also his first client, hard-rocker, Alice Cooper. Since that time, Pahssen has had many experiences, and cooked for many celebrities and athletes across the country; met politicians, and foreign royalty. Throughout his career so far, Jacob has worked at Owosso Country Club, Lula’s, opened two restaurants in Kalamazoo, and served as the sous chef at JW Marriott’s 616 5-Star restaurant. 616 was recognized as one of the finest restaurants in the Grand Rapids area, while Jacob earned the 2011 associate of the year for Marriott.
Pahssen has recently returned home to form his own company, Handcrafted Culinary. HC is a fully functional, industrial, mobile kitchen. Jacob caters weddings, parties, and special events. Pahssen credits his entrepreneurial spirit and career path to the programming and staff at OHS that provided him the opportunity to pursue his life’s passion; a passion that he now brings back home. Jacob, a devout family man, currently resides in Westown, where he provides care for his uncle while providing great care for his growing business clients.
